This class offers materials, instruction, and design help so that you can make your own canoe paddle. Choose bent or straight-shafted, with either solid or laminated construction. Mixed Media Art PlayArts, Crafts, and HobbiesInstructor: Laurie Pinther This class is for you! You don't need any art experience as this is an experimental process that allows you to be creative and expressive. This is a fun class to learn how to combine mixed media layers to create art. We will explore several mixed media techniques and practice creating layers using a variety of tools and art supplies to experiment with color and texture to create your one of a kind art projects (many to choose from or bring your own project or art journal). Painting 101Arts, Crafts, and HobbiesInstructor: Deb Hannu Want to learn about composition and color? How to ‘get started’ with a painting? What types of paints are out there, and what’s best for what purpose? We’ll focus on COLOR, as well as experiment with some tips, tricks and techniques as you dip a brush into the world of painting. (Recommend taking Drawing first!) If you have painting supplies that you’d like to use, feel free to bring them along. We will have materials here for you to use as well. You can also choose to order a kit to take home for an additional cost if you wish (info available the first night of class). WET FELTED SOAPArts, Crafts, and HobbiesWaitlistTake a normal bar of soap, wrap it in raw wool, put it through the felting process, and you now have a bar of soap wrapped in a cozy wool exfoliating cloth. Wool has natural antibacterial qualities that help keep your soap wrapped in wool, yuck free! Better than a loofah! Come try it! In this class, you will be creating 3 felted bars of soap. Keep them all for yourself, or give them as gifts. Please bring 3-4 bars of soap that you prefer. Please bring an additional $25 supply fee to the instructor at class to cover all other materials.Spring/Summer 26
